Gentle chiropractic care for the LGBTQ+ community

Writer: Masae HoriMasae Hori

Tomorrow: Saturday, May 6th, 2023, I will be providing complimentary sessions of gentle chiropractic care for folks at the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center in Allentown, PA as part of their First Saturday programs. There will be a roughly 2-hour time block from 2-4pm in which community members can stop by and experience some soothing care for their spines and nervous systems. Individual sessions would last about 15-20 minutes.

What I do in a nutshell: I practice a gentle, light-touch chiropractic method (called Network Spinal) that does not involve manual manipulation of the spinal joints (often associated with "popping" or "cracking" sounds). Instead, a light touch is applied at very specific points, which cue the brain to release and unwind tension and energy from areas of bound-up tension in the body. I also use cranial work to help release tension in the upper neck and skull, which further helps with relaxation of the body. This work is subtle, yet powerful and effective.

This will be my first collaboration with providing chiropractic care at the Bradbury-Sullivan Center, and I hope to continue collaborations in the future to help serve the community. Stay tuned for more!
